Wild Bird Outfitters is a family
owned farm in North Central Kansas with some of
the best quality upland bird and waterfowl
hunting you will find. Wheat, grain
sorghum, sunflowers, soybeans, and corn are the
primary crops grown on our 3,000 acre Kansas
farm. Our hunting ground, with its diverse
terrain, CRP grass, cropland, wooded draws, and
creeks, provides excellent habitat for an
abundance of wildlife including pheasants,
quail, prairie chicken, turkey and deer.
Each year, we make a concerted
effort to improve this already great habitat by
adding more food plots in the high cover areas,
providing watering holes, leaving more standing
stalks after harvest, and planting alfalfa and
other legumes to improve the nesting and
brooding areas.
One of the key factors to our
success has been limiting the hunting pressure:
we don't over-hunt the ground. On a
typical 3-day hunt, we won't hunt the same field
twice. When you book a hunt, you will
be the only hunters on our farm at that time.
This gives the birds a chance to settle down and
not move out of the area.
Because of this extra effort, we
have increased the wild game population on our
farm and are able to provide high quality
productive hunts.
